Methods and apparatus for generating and processing synthetic and absolute real time environments

Abstract: A system for generating and processing synthetic and absolute real time remote environments for interaction with a user and her biological senses is comprised of seven modules. These modules store, retrieve and process data to generate an output which interfaces with the system user’s biological senses. These modules also track user data to accurately place the user in the generated and processed model. Various embodiments of the system user sensory interface are provided including visual and aural input devices and a three dimensional chamber having interactive tactile output via matrix-addressed, electromechanically operated rods driving a flexible skin. Participated with Henry Dakin (Formerly of Dakin Plush Toy family) of Washington Street Institute on Russian Revolution with EarthBridge and various Fx, Phone and server systems along with Redmond’s video sharing technology.

Jan. 2, 1994 Scott Redmond created the first working demonstration of a pre VRML  networked interactive 3D video world network. The term VRML was coined by Dave Raggett in a paper called “Extending WWW to support Platform Independent Virtual Reality”[3] submitted to the First World Wide Web Conference[4] in 1994, and first discussed at the WWW94 VRML BOF established by Tim Berners-Lee, where Mark Pesce presented the Labyrinth demo he developed with Tony Parisi[5] and Peter Kennard.[6] In October 1995, at Internet World, Template Graphics Software (TGS) demonstrated a 3D/VRML plug-in for the beta release of Netscape 2.0 by Netscape Communications.[7]

12.5.1993 – Communications with Apple re: showing of Redmond “Mover” PC  VR frame buffer PC sofware. This seemed to not have any difference between the Quicktime VR software that was later reeased by Apple.

2.1994- Meeting at Apple, Cupertino campus where Scott Redmond demonstrated interactive frame buffer VGA  motion technology prior to announcement or release of Quicktime VR. Apple announces QuickTime VR later that year.  Met with Apple project lead and 6 engineers, Redmond used laptop to show mouse activated frame buffer look-around. Confirming emails and communications documents. Source code and application shown and distributed.

In U.S. Patent Office patent filing records for the movie company, Redmond is the ONLY third party name mentioned, thus confirming the source of the inspiration. Chief lawyer for movie company sends letter ordering no discussion about relationship between studio and Redmond, not realizing that marketing director for the entire movie studio has already mentioned the relationship on broadcast TV. Dyslexia Legislation Passed in Ohio

By Charlotte G. Andrist, Ph.D., NCSP, President, IDA Central Ohio Branch

HTTP://www.interdys.org/ewebeditpro5/upload/OhioXman.jpgHouse Bills (HB) 96 and 157 were passed by the Ohio Senate with the concurrence of the Ohio House during a late-night, end-of-the-year Statehouse session on December 14; both bills are expected to be signed into law by Governor Kasich before Christmas.  HB 96 (Celeste – D & Brenner – R) has two components.  The law will:  1) place the IDA definition of dyslexia directly into Ohio statute. Current Ohio law lists dyslexia as a specific learning disability, consistent with IDEA 2004, but does not provide a definition of dyslexia; and 2) begin a 3-year pilot program for the early identification and remediation of students at-risk for dyslexia and other phonologically based reading disorders.  HB 157 (Schuring – R & Letson – D) also has two components.  The law will:  1) define a dyslexia specialist as someone who has achieved training consistent with the Level II IDA Knowledge and Practice Standards; and 2) give Educational Service Centers (Ohio’s statewide network of inservice training facilities) and other educational institutions permission to hire a dyslexia specialist to provide professional development in the area of dyslexia for Ohio teachers and administrators. Many thanks to all of those who have worked so diligently to make this dyslexia legislation a reality, including Stephanie Gordan, Martha Chiodi, Pam Kanfer and many others in the Ohio Dyslexia Group.  A special thank-you goes to Janis Mitchell (HB 96) and Rebecca Tolson (HB 157) for the lobbying efforts that got these two legislative initiatives started.

Scott Douglas Redmond’s Genealogy

Expert genealogists have undertaken family history studies of Scott Douglas Redmond which revealed some very interesting facts including an original Mayflower “Declaration of Government” signer, founder of the highest order of knighthood in England, the “Black Knight” of the Crusades, the Keepers of Stonehenge (which turns out to be a family burial ground) and more…

One of Redmond’s ancestors was one of the 41 who signed the “Declaration of Government” on-board the Mayflower:

One of Scott Redmond’s ancestors worked with John Hancock, prominent Patriot of the American Revolution. He served as president of the Second Continental Congress and was the first and third Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He is remembered for his large and stylish signature on the United States Declaration of Independence, so much so that the term “John Hancock” has become, in the United States, a synonym for signature. Here is one of his payment stubs from Mr. Hancock:

Of Knights and the Royal Order of the Garter.

The Most Noble Order of the Garter, founded in 1348, is the highest order of chivalry, or knighthood, existing in England. The order is dedicated to the image and arms of St. George as England’s patron saint, and is presently bestowed on recipients from British and other Commonwealth realms; after peerages (and after the Victoria Cross and George Cross), it is the pinnacle of the honours system in the United Kingdom. Membership in the order is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and no more than twenty-four members, or Companions; the order also comprises Supernumerary knights and ladies (e.g., members of the British Royal Family and foreign monarchs). Bestowing the honour has been described as one of the Monarch’s few remaining truly personal, executive prerogatives.[2]

The order’s emblem, depicted on insignia, is a garter with the motto Honi soit qui mal y pense (Old French: “shame upon him who thinks evil upon it”, or “evil to him who evil thinks”) in gold lettering. Members of the order wear such a garter on ceremonial occasions. Various legends account for the origin of the Order. The most popular legend involves the “Countess of Salisbury” (either Edward’s future daughter-in-law Joan of Kent or her former mother-in-law, Catherine Montacute, Countess of Salisbury). While she was dancing at a court ball at Calais, her garter is said to have slipped from her leg. When the surrounding courtiers sniggered, the king picked it up, exclaiming, “Honi soit qui mal y pense,” (“Shamed be the person who thinks evil of it.”), the phrase that has become the motto of the Order.
